Japan Holidays 2026 from UK | Tours, Packages & Deals

Few countries divide the trip into “before Japan” and “after Japan” the way this one does. Bullet trains gliding past Mount Fuji. A bowl of ramen that ruins every other bowl forever. Centuries-old shrines tucked behind streets thick with neon. Japan keeps the old and the new in the same frame, and somehow it works.

At GenZ Travel, we build Japan tour packages from the UK that skip the planning headache. Return flights from London, hand-picked hotels, bullet train transfers, and 24/7 UK-based support — all ATOL protected, all bookable with a low deposit and 0% interest monthly payments.

Why Book a Japan Holiday?

A culture that genuinely surprises. Tea ceremonies and Zen gardens sit a train ride from karaoke booths and themed cafés. You don’t have to choose — Japan tours give you both in the same day.

Food worth flying 12 hours for. Tokyo holds more Michelin stars than Paris and New York combined, but the magic isn’t only at the top end. A £4 bowl of tonkotsu in a station basement can outshine a fancy meal back home.

Travel that actually works. The Shinkansen connects every major city smoothly and on time. With a Japan Rail Pass included in our packages, you can wake up in Tokyo and be slurping takoyaki in Osaka by lunch.

Safe, clean, and welcoming. Japan ranks among the safest countries in the world for solo travellers, couples, and families. Hospitality (omotenashi) is built into the culture.

Top Things to Do in Japan

  • Tokyo — Shibuya Crossing, Senso-ji Temple, Harajuku fashion streets, Akihabara’s anime quarter, and Shinjuku’s Golden Gai bars after dark.
  • Kyoto — Walk the orange torii tunnels of Fushimi Inari, the Arashiyama bamboo grove, and Gion’s geisha lanes. Don’t skip Kinkaku-ji, the gold-leafed temple.
  • Osaka — Japan’s food capital. Eat your way through Dotonbori: takoyaki, okonomiyaki, kushikatsu.
  • Mount Fuji & Hakone — Soak in an onsen with Japan’s most iconic peak in view. Climb it in summer (July–early September) or photograph it from Lake Kawaguchi.
  • Hiroshima & Miyajima — A moving day at the Peace Memorial, then a ferry to the floating torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine.
  • Nara — Bow to the freely roaming deer outside Todai-ji’s Great Buddha.
  • Snow Monkeys, Nagano — Macaques bathing in steaming hot springs surrounded by snow. Best November to March.
  • Hokkaido in Winter — Powder skiing in Niseko and the Sapporo Snow Festival in February.

Best Time to Visit Japan

March–May is peak season — cherry blossom (sakura) turns the entire country pink for roughly two weeks, usually late March in Tokyo and early April in Kyoto. Book Japan holiday packages 6–9 months ahead.

June is quieter and great value. Some rain, but cheaper hotels and far fewer crowds.

September–November delivers the best autumn foliage in Asia, especially in Kyoto and the Japanese Alps. Cooler, drier, and easier to photograph than spring.

December–February means lower prices, snow-dusted shrines, and Hokkaido’s ski season in full swing.
